YOGA WEST TEACHER TRAINING
As featured in
A yoga teacher training is not just about becoming a yoga teacher; it’s about becoming. Our psychotherapist-led programme transforms your personal yoga practice and your life. Many people come to practice yoga for different reasons. On this course you’ll evolve and grow by challenging yourself to do things you didn’t think possible, heightening your self awareness and self discovery. You’ll receive the support and guidance of our experienced and inspirational faculty. You’ll make friends for life with your fellow trainees.
You’ll get the opportunity to playfully investigate, correct and refine your practice; to explore and challenge its anatomical, philosophical, historical and psychological underpinnings and to better understand yourself and your relationship with the practice.
You will leave this training with the knowledge, motivation and teaching skills to deliver extraordinary classes and share your love of yoga with others, and, of course, a yoga teacher training diploma. You’ll benefit from ongoing support during and after the training from our faculty and have the opportunity to teach community classes. Many of our graduates are now teaching classes for Yoga West and for other studios all over London.
Our training takes place in our beautiful training space. An oasis of calm in busy London a couple of minutes walk from Shepherds Bush Station and a short walk from Hammersmith, Chiswick, Fulham, Holland Park, Notting Hill and Kensington.

These will be held by our amazing Lead Teacher Training Instructors.
YW TT SCHOLARSHIP
Our purpose is to give everyone the opportunity to build a regular yoga practice. We know that for some of us the practice is transformational and we'd like to live in a world where this opportunity is available to everyone irrespective of economics and culture. We are excited to reflect this in our Teacher Training. Yoga West is proud to share it’s BIPOC & LGBTQ+ scholarship scheme. Equal opportunities are incredibly important to us, education systems were born with discriminatory policies and we hope this scholarship will be a small step in the right direction. There is the equivalent of one full scholarship place available on each training, which can be delivered as a single full scholarship or several mini scholarships. It is available to anyone who will increase availability of yoga to communities with little or no access for economic, cultural or social reasons.
We welcome all enquires for the opportunity to be considered.

FAQs
HOW ADVANCED MUST I BE TO ENROL?
You don’t have to be able to levitate or to bend yourself like a pretzel to attend the Yoga West teacher training. The most important characteristics for the training are an open mind and a willingness to embrace a new way of being. To get the most out of the training we typically require you to have practiced regularly for at least two years. If you have experience in a complimentary area such as training, dance or physical therapy we may make an exception to this rule. If this is the case please get in contact and we’d be happy to discuss the specifics of your situation.
WHAT CERTIFICATE WILL I RECEIVE?
All applicants who complete the training will receive a Yoga Alliance 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate and be eligible to register as a certified teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
DO YOU HAVE PAYMENT PLANS?
Yes, please contact the studio to discuss payment options. All fees must be paid prior to the first day of the course.
HOW DO I SPEAK TO THE TEACHER TRAINERS BEFORE ENROLLING?
We have several Q&As scheduled with the faculty leaders at Yoga West prior to the teacher trainings, you can book these via our Workshops Page. We also strongly recommend you attend classes at the studio with the teacher-training faculty before the course starts.
WHAT TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE?
All teacher training graduates will be able to share two weekly community classes.. All graduates will have the opportunity to undertake a one-hour one-on-one exit interview including tailored advice on how to build their teaching career.
HOW WILL I BE EXAMINED?
All students will be examined informally throughout the teacher training and will answer a questionnaire and will be assessed teaching a small group of fellow students at the end of the training.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL ATTEND THE COURSE?
The course will be intimate with no more than 30 students permitted to attend.
WHAT READING WILL I HAVE TO DO ON THE COURSE?
Once you have registered for the training you will receive a recommended reading list. The reading list is optional not obligatory. There will also be an informal book group that all students will be encouraged to attend to deepen and share their understanding of these texts. The groups are included in the course fee.
I’M NOT SURE I WANT TO TEACH
No worries. There are many reasons to undertake a teacher training. A desire to teach others is one of these reasons but not the only one. The training will be a transformational experience so who knows how you will feel about teaching at the end of the training. Some people started the training wanting to teach and others started it off not wanting to teach.

POST GRADUATE SUPPORT
We’re incredibly proud to host one of the leading yoga teacher trainings in London, well-loved training hosting
such a strong community. After you finish your Teacher Training you may wonder what
happens next? At Yoga West we bridge the gap post training as you start navigating your way
through the world of teaching yoga. Read on about the programmes and options we have that you
can take advantage of after graduating.
COMMUNITY CLASSES
After completing training most graduates “take a breather” so you can integrate everything you have learnt and
experienced. Following this one of the Yoga West team will be in touch with you about teaching our community
classes. These are held in-studio on Mondays & Wednesdays at 5pm. The community classes are a wonderful
opportunity for you to immediately put what you’ve learnt into practice and get experience teaching larger groups in
a studio setting. These classes are also priced a little differently to give our community yoga for less. Invite friends,
family and loved ones to come down and show support and see how much you have learned!
ASSISTANT PROGRAMME
Our assistant programme is slowly making its way back after covid. In this programme you are assigned to a specific
weekly class and teacher. Support them during class, practice making physical adjustments, get inspired by long
standing yogis and teachers. This programme again isn’t compulsory and the team will reach out to grads to
schedule each round the assistant programme starts.
AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME
Anna Bing, a graduate from our second teacher training, heads up our exciting ambassador programme for all of our graduate yoga teachers. This
programme nurtures you as you develop into your teaching career with monthly gatherings. These take place at the
studio and are a mixture of paid and free events operating in a drop in style fashion. In these sessions you will:
• Connect with graduates from other Yoga West teacher trainings and deepen your connection to graduates from your
training
• Consolidate, embed and extend your knowledge for both your personal and teaching practice, like mini advanced trainings
• Receive informal mentoring, peer support and insights from your peers and teachers
• Discover a safe space for young teachers to discuss and share experiences as you develop
